Dr. Ken Lossman

Dr. Ken Lossman

The President and Managing Partner of Lossman Eye Care Associates, Dr. Ken Lossman grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois.  His undergraduate studies were at Western Illinois University and Dr. Lossman graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree – Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in May 1976.  Upon graduation from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he was a member of the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Dr. Lossman joined Dr. Robert Risch who was in private practice in Park Ridge and Carpentersville. Dr. Lossman has taken leadership roles in various community groups including the Park Ridge Kiwanis, Carpentersville Lions Club, CARDUNAL Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce.  Furthermore, Dr. Lossman is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and is actively involved in training Optometry students, serving as Adjunct Clinical Professor for the Illinois College of Optometry and Salus University in Pennsylvania. Since acquiring the practice in 1978, Dr. Lossman has worked diligently to assemble the finest group of eye care providers in Northern Illinois. Dr. Lossman’s passion is Family Eye Care.  His practice consists of patients of all age groups and visual/ocular problems.  Dr. Ken Lossman has dedicated his professional career to bringing the highest level of vision/eye care to his patients. Dr. Thomas Balda

Dr. Thomas Balda

Dr. Balda graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1993 and joined Lossman Eye Care Associates with a special interest in disease evaluation and treatment, including glaucoma, cataract and laser refractive surgery management, and contact lenses. He has continually upgraded his techniques and knowledge in this arena as the profession of optometry has expanded its role in the health care field. A progressive eye care provider, Dr. Balda also offers the latest in spectacle and contact lens technology. His community involvement includes membership in the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, Past Vice-President of the Lake Zurich Jaycees, and adjunct Professor of the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Kimberly Robertson

Dr. Kimberly Robertson

Dr. Kimberly Robertson graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2002 with the distinction of being part of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. During her time there, she served as a Teachers Assistant in the Clinical Procedures Lab and was a member and officer of theOptometric Student Association. Prior to Optometry school she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with a minor in Psychology (high distinction) from Indiana University and is Part of the Psi Chi Honor Society.  Dr Robertson has been in the optical field since 1994, beginning as an Optometric technician, during her undergraduate years and becoming an Optometrist in 2002. She joined the TEAM at Lossman Eye Care Associates in 2003. She has conducted ocular research and served internships at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, as well as theIndianapolis Eye Care Center in Indiana. Dr. Robertson is certified in the treatment of ocular diseases and has complete post-graduate work in retina, cornea, glaucoma, laser vision correction and corneal refractive therapy. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Antonia Mourelatos

Dr. Antonia Mourelatos

Dr. Antonia Mourelatos joined Lossman Eye Care in 2007. Dr. Mourelatos is a graduate of theUniversity of Illinois Champaign-Urbana where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree 1997. She earned her second Bachelor of Science in Visual Science from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1998 and her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2001. Dr. Mourelatos was the recipient of the Wesley and Jessen Award for outstanding Contact Lens Studies in May of 2001.  Dr. Mourelatos practices Primary Care Optometry specializing in contact lenses, dry eye and ocular allergies. She also co-manages patients having cataract surgery and laser vision correction. She is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and has served on an international mission providing eye care to to under-served populations in Guatemala. Dr. Jesse Peterman

Dr. Jesse Peterman

Dr. Jesse Peterman has been with Lossman Eye Care Associates since 2006. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Illinois College of Optometry in 2005. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Peterman received a bachelor’s degree in biology honors, graduating with distinction from the University of Illinois in Urbana- Champaign in 2001. Dr. Peterman has received extensive training in the areas of pediatrics, ocular disease, low vision, and contact lenses at several locations, including Great Lakes Naval Hospital and the Illinois Eye Institute. While in optometry school, Dr.Peterman was elected to join the Beta Sigma Kappa and Tomb and Key Honor societies and he received the Illinois Optometric Scholarship for academic performance. Dr. Peterman has been involved with local Lions Clubs. He has participated in service missions with Illinois Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) providing eye care to underserved populations in the Dominican Republic. He is also involved with the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and Greater O’Hare Association. Dr. Jennifer Hunsader

Dr. Jennifer Hunsader

Dr. Jennifer Hunsader joined the practice in December 2011.  Dr. Hunsader was raised in Park Ridge and graduated from Maine South High School.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Carthage College in 2005 and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009. Dr. Hunsader’s professional interests include contact lenses and managing ocular diseases of the corneal, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. Hunsader is an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH).  She has traveled to Nicaragua and Peru on optometric mission trips providing eye care to the under privileged.  She is also a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Katherine Lenz

Dr. Katherine Lenz

Dr. Katherine Lenz is very excited to rejoin the team at Lossman Eye Care Associates! Dr. Lenz worked in our Lake Zurich office as an optician while attending Elmhurst College. After graduating in 2009 with her Bachelors of Science in Biology, she went on to attend Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) where graduated with clinical honors in 2013. She was the first graduate of Elmhurst College to be admitted to ICO. While at ICO, Dr. Lenz completed extensive training in the areas of pediatrics, low vision, specialty contact lenses and ocular disease. Some of her externship locations include Chicago Cornea Consultants, Sidney Hilman Health Center, Lighthouse for the Blind, Illinois Eye Institute and here at Lossman Eye Care! Dr. Lenz practices full scope optometry and enjoys woring with patients of all ages. She is able to conduct exams in Spanish. Dr. Lenz is an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Lenz has lived in the Chicago area her whole life, having grown up in Arlington Heights and Palatine. She and her husband, Jeff, currently reside in Lake Zurich.
